米中の超大国間の戦略的競争は、これまでアジア太平洋に経済的繁栄と政治的安定をもたらしてきた多国間経済秩序を脅かしている。WTOは機能不全に陥っており、経済のブロック化やデジタル化など新たな課題に対応する国際ルールは十分整備されていない。
本セミナーでは、1989年の設立以来アジア太平洋経済の自由化を進めてきたAPECの役割と「開かれた、ダイナミックで、強靱（きょうじん）かつ平和なアジア太平洋共同体」を目指すAPEC2040ビジョン（プトラジャヤ・ビジョン2040）について、レベッカ・サンタマリアAPEC事務局長からお話しいただくとともに、APEC 参加 21 カ国・地域の首脳が指名したビジネス界の代表で構成されるAPEC 唯一の公式民間諮問団体であるABAC（APEC ビジネス諮問委員会）の代理委員であり丸紅株式会社執行役員を務める今村卓経済研究所長からコメントをいただき、アジア太平洋経済への米中対立やCPTPP、RCEPの影響と今後を展望する。

Rebecca Sta Maria is the executive director of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Secretariat based in Singapore where she advises and provides support for APEC's 21 diverse member economies.
Dr Sta Maria spent years as a top-level civil servant and trade negotiator in Malaysia. As Secretary-General of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry she oversaw the formulation of Malaysia's positions in major agreements such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
