Overview

This research project examines regional industrial policy in Japan from the perspective of firm behavior amid an expansion in corporate capital investment. It analyzes (i) the effects of relaxed green space regulations under the Factory Location Act on investment and local economies, (ii) how task-specific workplace choices and the use of generative AI influence creativity and productivity, and (iii) how internal resources, external support, and institutional environments influence startup growth. By integrating land use, labor, and entrepreneurship, the project provides an empirical foundation for regional industrial policy.
