A Fourth-tier Supplier May Be a Critical Part of the Supply Chain

Brooke Masters is correct that businesses need to support their suppliers ("Supply chains need some love during the coronavirus pandemic," April 9). Lead companies are familiar with their first- and second-tier suppliers. However, a fourth-tier supplier may produce a vital component. Anchor companies must ensure that their support extends to these critical nodes in their production networks.
