Faculty Fellow ITO Keiko’s book Globalization and Japanese Firms: Structural Changes in the Balance of Payments and Firm Performance (Keio University Press Inc.) received the 66th Mainichi Economist Award.
The Mainichi Economist Award was established in 1960 by the Economist editorial department of the Mainichi Shimbun. Each year, it is awarded to the most impressive empirical and theoretical analysis work among books and papers published during the year on topics related to the Japanese and global economies. The prize has helped launch the careers of many talented people and is generally considered the "Akutagawa Prize for economic discourse."
