Abstract

This study, which uses original firm survey data on the use of support policies related to the COVID-19 pandemic linked with government statistics, documents productivity, wages, and profitability of the supported firms before the COVID-19 pandemic. The result indicates that the firms using support policies had lower productivity, wages, and profitability relative to the non-using firms before the pandemic. Firms that used multiple policy measures and those that used support policies repeatedly tended to show additionally lower performance.
