Announcement
Recently, the unpredictability and uncertainty of the future of the global economy have raised the concerns of both policymakers and researchers. Focusing on the relationship between uncertainty and firms, we held an international workshop with overseas researchers including those from Stanford University and the University of Chicago. Using various firm- and plant-level surveys and keywords from newspapers and selected documents, the presented studies construct micro-level uncertainty measures and indexes and examine the impacts of uncertainty on firm activities and performance. The intent of this workshop is to deepen the understanding of the theme and strengthen international collaboration between RIETI and overseas institutions.
