The Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI) has become a consortium member of VoxEU, which was established by the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the leading European research institute in economics.
Through its policy portal VoxEU.org, VoxEU aims to promote research-based policy analysis and commentary by leading scholars, with Professor Richard Baldwin serving as the Editor-in-Chief. VoxEU posts a substantial number of columns, eBooks, and eReports in a wide range of topics covering international trade, finance, education, economic policy, labor market, and others.
Since 2007, RIETI has been actively promoting research exchange including co-hosting international workshops with CEPR, which is highly respected in Europe and around the world for its excellent standard of research, its broad research network in Europe, and its active yet independent stance beyond national borders in making policy proposals.
VoxEU consortium members from Japan will now include RIETI and the Research Unit for Statistical and Empirical Analysis in Social Sciences (G-COE Hi-Stat). Under such cooperative relations, we will disseminate our research output by reposting our selected columns on VoxEU.org. At the same time, we will introduce major policy debates from around the world to our readers by reposting those from VoxEU.org on the RIETI website. This will allow us to contribute further to active policy discussion.
