International Workshop

Research in Gender Inequalities in Japan and South Korea

Announcement

Economic inequality between men and women in Japan and South Korea has similarities and dissimilarities. In particular, regarding similarities, there are aspects unique to the two countries, stemming from their similar social structures and cultures, which are not found in Western societies. However, until now, there have been few opportunities for Japanese and Korean researchers to interact and exchange information on these shared issues.
This workshop will bring together leading researchers from Japan and Korea who have been conducting quantitative research on gender inequality in the labor market, workplace, and education, to introduce each other's research and engage in academic exchange. This workshop aims to foster a deeper awareness of shared issues and cultivate cooperative relationships to address common problems through future exchanges.
