RIETI Special Seminar

U.S. Tax Reform: Prospects and Roadblocks

Announcement

Since the U.S. presidential election last year, discussion on corporate tax reform has been heating up given global economic developments stroking interest in international tax systems, and Donald Trump's tax reform plan sparking international controversy. The major corporate tax rate cut is not the only pillar of Trump's tax reform, but a shift to a destination-based cash flow tax which is based on the House Republicans' tax blueprint.

We invite Professor Alan J. Auerbach of the University of California, Berkeley to give his evaluation of the tax reform plan and discuss the current politics of U.S. tax reform.
