Announcement
Promoting employment of the elderly is a primary policy goal in Japan in face of the increasing number of elderly people. However, there are some concerns that the policy intervention to achieve this unintentionally reduces the employment of other groups such as young people. This policy symposium, jointly organized with IZA of Germany, aims to share the knowledge based on rigorous empirical research from the United States, Europe, and Japan to promote employment of the elderly without distorting that of other groups.
