Workshop

Tokyo Workshop on Spatial Economics

  • Program

Announcement

The main objective of the Tokyo Workshop on Spatial Economics was to explore whether space matters in the real economy. Five researchers presented their latest research in spatial economics on urban and regional economies and trade. In particular, the topics included (a) social interactions and segregation in the context of an urban spatial structure and (b) spatial economic impacts of global warming, labor market integration, and city size. We thoroughly discussed these topics from a variety of perspectives. We also extensively argued the policy implications of spatial economics such as optimal taxation in globalized cities.
