概要

This study, using data from original survey conducted in June 2020, overviews people's perception on the danger of Covid-19 and policy responses to the pandemic. The result indicates, first, that subjective probability to be infected and to become serious condition is very high and the stringent social distancing policies are widely supported. Second, people expect it takes about two years to stop down the pandemic completely. Third, negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on consumption is strong for high-income individuals, suggesting that selective expenditure is affected heavily. Fourth, the special cash payments program is generally welcomed, but the benefit is greater for financially constrained individuals such as those lost jobs due to the pandemic and low-income people.
