Data

RIETI has established a Quantitative Analysis and Database cluster for systematic maintenance of databases used in policy analysis. This section introduces each project and provides data which are open to the public and available for use outside RIETI.

R-JIP Database

The Regional-level Japan Industrial Productivity (R-JIP) Database compiles data series from 1970 through 2012 for each industry of each prefecture. The data can be used to analyze regional productivity gaps in Japan and its industrial structure.

Industry-Specific Nominal and Real Effective Exchange Rates of 25 Countries Worldwide

RIETI started publishing the novel dataset of the industry-specific nominal effective exchange rate (I-NEER) and the industry-specific real effective exchange rate (I-REER) in May 2011 in cooperation with the Center for Economic and Social Studies in Asia (CESSA) of the Department of Economics at Yokohama National University (YNU). From March 2015, RIETI began releasing the daily and monthly series of I-NEER and I-REER for nine Asian economies.

AMU and AMU Deviation Indicators

The purpose of this site is to publish the results of the AMU (Asian Monetary Unit) and AMU Deviation Indicators calculated by RIETI Faculty Fellow OGAWA Eiji and SHIMIZU Junko as a part of the RIETI project, "The Optimal Exchange Rate Regime for East Asia," headed by Faculty Fellow ITO Takatoshi. The AMU was created through the collaborative efforts of Hitotsubashi University's Global COE Project "Research Unit for Statistical and Empirical Analysis in Social Sciences" and RIETI.

This website provides information regarding the Japanese Study of Aging and Retirement (JSTAR), a panel survey of elderly people aged 50 or older conducted by the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (hereinafter "RIETI"), Hitotsubashi University, and, more recently, the University of Tokyo. Detailed survey results as well as information regarding the use of the micro-data collected in the survey, which are made available (subject to approval by RIETI) to researchers belonging to universities and/or research institutes, can be found here.

RIETI-TID

RIETI-TID is the database which covers all trade commodity goods and classifies the trade data according to each production stage.
