On November 3, 2025, RIETI Faculty Fellow OWAN Hideo’s book Economics of the Gender Wage Gap (Nikkei Business Publications, Inc.) was awarded the 68th Nikkei Prize for Excellent Books in Economic Science, co-hosted by Nikkei Publishing Inc. and the Japan Center for Economic Research (JCER). The prize was established in 1958 to contribute to the advancement of academics and knowledge in the fields of economics, management, and accounting, as well as to its general dissemination and application.
