Lili Yan Ing is a Lead Advisor (Southeast Asia Region) at the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA).
Dr Ing was appointed as Lead Advisor to the Minister of Trade of Indonesia from 2017–2019 and Senior Advisor on Trade and Investment at the President’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia from 2015–2016. She has written articles and edited books, among others: World Trade Evolution, East Asian Integration, The Indonesian Economy, Production Networks in Southeast Asia, Regional Integration and Non-Tariff Measures in ASEAN, Non-Tariff Measures in ASEAN, and 50 Years of Indonesia’s Trade Policy. She regularly speaks at international fora such as WTO symposiums, NTM Weeks, and East Asia Business and Investment Summit. She is also a frequent contributor to the East Asia Forum, The Diplomat, Asian Nikkei Review, and Jakarta Post.

毕业于上智大学国际关系法专业、乔治敦大学法律中心(法学硕士)。曾任职于日本经济团体联合会事务局、日本常驻日内瓦国际组织代表团、三菱UFJ调查与咨询株式会社,2019年起任职中央大学国际经营系。现任产业结构审议会通商贸易分科会委员、不公平贸易政策与措施调查小组委员会委员、财务省关税与外汇等审议会专家委员。主要研究国际经济法和对外经济政策。近期发表过“服务协议作为国际投资法的功能和经济安全”,日本海关协会《贸易与关税》2022年8月号,参与撰写了《RCEP评论》、《TPP评论》(日本关税协会,2022/2019年,合著,负责撰写服务贸易部分),参与翻译了Anu Bradford所著《布鲁塞尔效应:欧盟如何统治世界》(白水社,2022)。

Mr. NGUYEN Anh Duong holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Master of Economics, both from the Australian National University (Australia). In 2005, he joined the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) – the leading think-tank in Viet Nam, under the Ministry of Planning and Investment. Currently being the Director of the Department for General Economic Issues and Integration Studies, Mr. Nguyen has various important research papers and policy recommendations to the Government of Viet Nam on economic integration, supply chain finance, digital economy and circular economy.
Mr. Nguyen has extensive international cooperation under various frameworks. He represents Viet Nam at the Economic Committee of APEC since 2012. He led the APEC Economic Committee Team to develop the Enhanced APEC Agenda for Structural Reform 2021-2025, endorsed by the 3rd APEC Structural Reform Ministerial Meeting in June 2021. Since 2019, Mr. Nguyen represents CIEM at the ASEAN+6 Regional Institute Network (RIN), coordinated by Bangkok Research Center, IDE-JETRO. He also provides support to the President of CIEM in her position as nominated member from Viet Nam to the Governing Board of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA).

Tan Sri Datuk Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria is the executive director of the APEC Secretariat based in Singapore, which serves as advisory body, implementation arm and custodian of institutional memory for the 21 member economies that make up the APEC forum.
Dr Sta Maria was a top-level Malaysian civil servant and trade negotiator.
As Secretary-General of the Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry from December 2010 to July 2016, she oversaw the formulation of Malaysia’s international trade policies and positions. She often took the lead in their implementation as chief negotiator for bilateral and regional free trade agreements such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.
Dr Sta Maria played an integral role in Malaysia’s participation in multilateral forums such as APEC, where she often represented her economy during the APEC Ministers’ Responsible for Trade Meetings and the Small and Medium Enterprises Ministerial Meetings. In the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Dr Sta Maria chaired the body that drafted the ASEAN Economic Community 2015 Blueprint as well as the ASEAN Economic Community 2025 Blueprint. An accomplished academic and writer, Dr Sta Maria’s scholarship has been recognized through awards from the American Academy of Human Resource Development and from the University of Georgia. In 2017, she authored a book about her personal slice of Malaysian heritage and cuisine, called The Smell of Home. Before 2010, the position of executive director of the APEC Secretariat rotated yearly among officials assigned by the incumbent host economy. Starting in 2010, the appointment was opened to applications from highly qualified professionals who will, when appointed, lead the Secretariat in fixed three-year terms with an option to renew. Dr Sta Maria is the first woman executive director of the APEC Secretariat.

Wang Dong is Full Professor with Tenure at School of International Studies, Peking University. He holds a joint professorship appointment at Institute for Global Health and Development, Peking University. Prof. Wang also serves as Deputy Director of the Office for Humanities and Social Sciences and Executive Director of the Institute for Global Cooperation and understanding(iGCU), both at Peking University. He also serves as Standing Council Member of the Chinese Association of American Studies, Member of the Steering Committee of the East Asia Security Forum, and Chinese Overseas Educated Scholars Association, among other advisory posts.
Wang Dong received his bachelor’s in law from Peking University and M.A. and Ph.D. in political science from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He had taught with a tenure-track appointment at York College of Pennsylvania before joining the faculty of Peking University. Dr. Wang has written extensively on international relations and China’s foreign policy. His articles appear in leading academic journals and media outlets such as The Journal of Conflict Resolution, Diplomatic History, The Pacific Review, Foreign Affairs, Global Asia, The Diplomat, The New York Times, and The Straits Times. He sits on the editorial boards of several leading academic journals in China and abroad, and serves as an anonymous reviewer for several premier academic journals internationally. He is the author and/or editor of 6 English-language publications such as Re-globalization: When China Meets the World Again(Routledge, 2020).
Dr. Wang has attended several premier international forums and track II dialogues as a Chinese Delegate, including Summer Davos, the Munich Security Conference, and the Shangri-La Dialogue. Dr.Wang was named a “Munich Young Leader” in 2016 (the only awardee from China); and was selected by the inaugural program of “Preeminent Young Scientists” of Beijing in 2018 (topping the tanks as No. 1 in the sub-category of humanities and social sciences), one of the most prestigious awards ever given in China.

Shiro Armstrong is Associate Professor at the Crawford School of Public Policy at The Australian National University. He is Director of the Australia-Japan Research Centre, Editor of the East Asia Forum, Director of the Asian Bureau of Economic Research and Research Associate at the Center on Japanese Economy and Business at the Columbia Business School. Dr. Armstrong took his PhD in Economics from the Australian National University and has been visitor to Tokyo University, Peking University, Harvard University and Columbia University. He is Head of the Secretariat for the Pacific Trade and Development (PAFTAD) conference series. His publications include 5 edited books, numerous peer-reviewed journals including in the World Economy, Asian Economic Journal, Foreign Affairs and Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies, and is a regular contributor to the opinion pages of the Australian Financial Review.
