Nordic 5 Countries Embassy Seminar

New Form of Capitalism in Japan and the Nordic Vision: Labour participation, gender equality, and work-life balance

Announcement

The Nordic vision 2030 is to make the Nordic region the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030. Prime Minister Kishida’s “New form of Capitalism” aims to achieve robust growth by among others promoting diversity.
In the Prime Minister’s own words “The keyword in this context is diversity. For Japanese companies to achieve innovation-driven growth, they need to become more diverse.” Gender equality is a cornerstone of the modern Nordic welfare societies. The high employment rates for both women and men are linked to the Nordic countries' commitments to subsidized childcare, parental leave, and good working conditions. The Nordic countries embassies in Tokyo with support from the Nordic Council of Ministers will organize a series of seminar focusing on the “New form of capitalism in Japan and the Nordic vision”. The topic for the first seminar will be labour participation, gender equality, and work-life balance.
